Fort Collins CO Stands Up to Council Corruption Regarding Smart Meters

Fort Collins CO Stands Up to Council Corruption

Posted on May 16, 2014 by onthelevelblog

On April 15th, residents of Fort Collins, CO outraged by the treatment of Virginia Farver and others by City staff and law enforcement, rose up and attended the city council meeting en masse to demand the removal of smart meters in their town. We visited Fort Collins in late March as part of our whistlestop tour, went and confronted the utility manager, spoke at a TBYP screening event at the library, and got kicked out of a utility event for quietly spreading awareness to the public in attendance. Fort Collins is a nice town with good people, but unfortunately a corrupt and dangerous city government continues to impose its will on the public despite the mounting evidence of harm from their smart meter program.

Members of the public all provided key facts and information which the council struggles to digest or respond to. It must be pretty troubling to realize that as an elected official you have made ill-informed decisions that have put people’s lives and health in danger. Much easier psychologically to dig in deeper and refuse to take any of it on board. Just move on to the next administrative item and pretend those members of the public don’t exist, or are all crazy. It’s easier that way.

When one in confronted by a brittle, unresponsive council in denial while people are clearly hurting, and their rights being violated, what do you do? “We’re not forcing anything on you” says one of the council members who admits that RF from smart meters does cause changes in cells. With a smirk, he says, they are not forcing anything on anyone- you can choose to live without water service and electrical service- and presumably that is your only choice if you are not happy with your cells being changed or your private activities monitored.

It’s “choices” like these that led to the (first) American Revolution.

Smart Meter, what it sounds like…

Stop Smart Meters Protest at the Home of PG&&E Pres., Moraga, California

The mysterious men showed up shortly after the protestors arrived at his home on January 22, 2014 How did they know this was going to take place????

The following is an account of someone who was there:“Obviously PG&E is tracking these demonstrations. As soon as I arrived at 2pm, a car pulled into their driveway. Soon a man with an ID hanging from his neck got out and went into the house. Other demonstrators arrived. Soon thereafter a car drove by with two men in them, window rolled down, and one yelled, ‘wrong house, he’s moved.’ Gullible me thought oh no I got it wrong and everyone’s here, help!…. The guard came out escorting Mrs. Johns – I mostly recognized her – I had demonstrated alone here one year before and had knocked on the door and she had opened it up and we had talked until her husband screamed, ‘shut the door.’

FOXe report: Smart meter concerns

Fox 2 News Headlines

WJBK) – DTE Energy crews have installed smart meters at 1.5 million homes across Michigan. The new meters are an advancement in technology and can be read remotely by radio signals, but some homeowners say the meters are intrusive and dangerous.

For example, a fire in Pennsylvania is believed to have started when a smart meter exploded.

Some homeowners fear the technology will be used for spying by tracking your energy use, even being able to pinpoint when you’re not home. National news reports have indicated that is possible.

Others say the meters also cause health problems.

Stand-off between irate families and Irish Water workers enters second day

Ralph Riegel – Updated 23 April 2014 12:44 PM

IRISH Water contractors have been prevented for a second day from installing meters in a Cork housing estate by a blockade manned by residents and campaigners.

Gardai called to the Ashbrook Estate in Togher on Cork’s southside at 10am and warned protestors that they were not entitled to prevent access to the estate.

However, several protestors said that while they understood the garda instruction, they felt so strongly about the water meter installation issue they were prepared to be arrested.

Pickets manned by eight volunteers remained in place with locals ferrying tea and scones to the protestors.

Protestor reinforcements are on standby.

Contractors had to withdraw from the housing estate on Tuesday after being confronted by over 100 parents and children protesting against water meter installation works.

A number of families, including mothers and children, surrounded the work areas and refused to allow the work to continue.

The contractors remain parked directly across from the entrance to the estate but have made no attempt to resume the meter installation works today.

Protestor John Lonergan said that locals will not accept the installation of the meters and, in particular, smart meters which utilise microwave technology.

Another protestor, John O’Donovan of the Campaign Against Home and and Water Taxes, said the peaceful demonstration was an example of how “people power can triumph.”

“We stood and blocked them while their were digging. They have no consent from any of the householders to do this,” he said.

“Basically what they are doing is pushing contracts on people and it is a one-sided contract.”

“They have no permission given by anyone…to be putting meters outside people’s homes. They are pushing this on us without even asking for permission to do so”.

Gardai attended the scene both days but have so far not intervened.

Irish Water said that the meter installation will have to take place.

New video: PUNITIVE POWER and the ‘smart meter’ TYRANNY

Published on Mar 26, 2014

On Monday 24th March 2014 at 10am, two inspectors from Energy Safe Victoria [Australia] arrived at Sofia’s home to undertake investigations as to who the actual person was that removed her smart meter. They intend to prosecute whoever removed the meter.
These people are not interested in whether a smart meter is dangerous to people’s houses because they can burst into flames, or whether they can ruin a person’s health and ability to work and spying on people in collecting private data that can be sold — NO, they only want a conviction for breaking their law.
