“Sonic Weapon Attacks” on U.S. Embassy Don’t Add Up—for Anyone (Scientific American)

“Sonic Weapon Attacks” on U.S. Embassy Don’t Add Up—for Anyone (Scientific American)

    And more from Scientific American

By R. Douglas Fields on February 16, 2018

One unproved theory holds that an array of poles and metal awnings in a park adjacent to the U.S. embassy in Havana serves as a system of antennas that are part of a sonic or microwave weapon. Called El Monte de las Banderas (the Mount of Flags), the poles were erected by Cuban authorities to obscure a message board on the embassy that was purportedly conveying objectionable content. Credit: R. Douglas Fields

HAVANA—Heated charges have flown back and forth for months between the two countries that bracket the Strait of Florida. U.S. State Department officials contended Cuba staged a sonic attack on employees of the American embassy, causing a variety of neurological symptoms. Cuba has not only denied such an attack ever took place but has also emphasized the physical impossibility of a sound wave causing neurological damage trained on such a distant target.

But physicians and scientists from both countries now appear to be in agreement on one critical point: Both sides acknowledge they are baffled as to what happened to 24 embassy employees who were diagnosed with mild traumatic brain damage between November 2016 and August 2017.

The latest development is a preliminary publication in JAMA The Journal of the American Medical Association on Thursday, authored by the team of doctors at the University of Pennsylvania who examined 21 of the U.S. government employees. The study, commissioned by the federal government, found the patients had suffered from concussionlike symptoms—but without any blunt trauma to the head. The medical issues varied widely among the patients, and included cognitive difficulties and problems with balance, eye tracking, sleep disturbances and headache.

Adding yet another element to the mystery, the new findings show normal MRI brain scans in all patients, and normal hearing in all but three individuals. The authors of the JAMA study also discount the likelihood of sonic injury, infection or toxic agents—and they even downplay the frequent suggestion of mass hysteria. Many of the findings in the new report echo a previous investigation carried out by Cuban officials.

The new report’s inconclusiveness does little to break the impasse. The State Department has issued multiple warnings in recent months that U.S. citizens should not travel to Cuba, because numerous embassy employees here had been targeted in attacks. The culprit was thought to be some form of unidentified sonic weapon trained on embassy employees, primarily in their residences near the post, including at the Capri Hotel.

The precise mechanism of the alleged attacks remains unclear. Between November 2016 and August 2017, some embassy staff complained of hearing strange sounds that targeted specific individuals—one person would hear them and another in the same room wouldn’t. By August 2017, physicians at the University of Miami and Penn had diagnosed 24 of 80 embassy employees with mild traumatic brain injury, likely caused by “trauma due to a non-natural source.” This report led to an angry response from U.S. lawmakers, including Sen. Bob Menendez (D–N.J.), who described the incidents as “brazen and vicious attacks” on diplomats…SNIP

The X Files: Experts Confirm U.S. Diplomats Suffered Concussions From a Still Unknown Source

    Excerpt from Futuriam:

In the fall of 2016, United States diplomats posted in Cuba started to experience hearing loss, vertigo, and brain swelling. According to the Associated Press, which first reported the incident in August 2017, some diplomats’ symptoms were so severe that they were forced to return stateside early. Most affected diplomats reported hearing strange noises by their homes and hotel rooms; a few days later, the headaches and the hearing loss started. CNNsaid that several Canadian diplomats also suffered similar symptoms.

The incident baffled the U.S. State Department. After an extensive investigation, officials blamed a covert sonic device that had been deployed nearby the diplomats’ residences. While the Federal Bureau of Investigation ruled out that possibility nearly five months after the accusations, the damage to the U.S. and Cuba’s relationship was done.

The incident caused the then-recently restored diplomatic relations between the U.S. and Cuba to sour. Cuban officials denied any knowledge of such a weapon, and issued a statement that said, “Cuba has never permitted, nor will permit, that Cuban territory be used for any action against accredited diplomatic officials or their families, with no exception.” Regardless, the U.S. expelled two Cuban diplomats from their Washington D.C. embassy in retaliation for the supposed attacks.

Now, almost two years after the original incident, a new report by a group of University of Pennsylvania researchers, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association(JAMA), sheds more light on the mystery.

The JAMA study confirms that the diplomats didn’t just experience concussive symptoms — headaches, memory problems, brain swelling — but they had suffered concussions without ever being hit on the head. The JAMA report, which studied 21 of the 24 affected U.S. diplomats, confirmed that they had suffered “injury to widespread brain networks without an associated history of head trauma.” SNIP

Anders Ahlbom and Maria Feychting mislead about research on health effects from electromagnetic fields in new report

Anders Ahlbom and Maria Feychting mislead about research on health effects from electromagnetic fields in new report

From Mona Nilsson, The Swedish Radiation Protection Foundation, February 8, 2018

In 2017 the Public Health Agency of Sweden (Folkhälsomyndigheten) published a report on environmental health issues (Miljöhälsorapport 2017) that included a section on EMF health risks authored by Anders Ahlbom (AA) and Maria Feychting (MF), both professors at the Karolinska Institute. The report from Anders Ahlbom and Maria Feychting is grossly misleading about the available scientific evidence.

    Members of ICNIRP

Anders Ahlbom and Maria Feychting dominated all expert evaluations on health risks from low frequency electromagnetic fields and radiofrequency radiation from wireless technology for a decade in Sweden (2003-2011). Furthermore they have been or are still experts to the WHO (MF 2015-2018), the EU (AA 2007, 2009), UK (MF), Norway (MF). They are both also partly responsible for the standards (or reference values) that most countries apply for limiting exposure to electromagnetic fields ICNIRP (AA 1996-2008), MF (2008-now). In all their statements and reports health effects below their own recommended standards from ICNIRP have been dismissed. In 2008 the Karolinska Institutes ethical board draw the conclusion that Anders Ahlboms membership in ICNIRP might be considered as a conflict of interest and therefore should be declared whenever he made any statements related to the issue of health effetcts from electromagnetic fields.

    Ties to telecommunications industry

Both receive funding from the telecommunications industry for research. Their statements and reports have consistently during the last 15 years been biased in favour of the telecommunications, IT, and electricity industry’s interest. SNIP

BRIEF REPORT on the EHS provocation studies from Darius Leszczynski

BRIEF REPORT on the EHS provocation studies from Darius Leszczynski

Dariusz Leszczynski / Finland. Updated  February 11, 2018

BRIEF REPORT on the EHS provocation studies prepared by Dariusz Leszczynski, PhD, DSc (biochemistry) Adjunct Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Helsinki, Finland. Chief Editor of ‘Radiation and Health’, a specialty of the ‘Frontiers in Public Health’, Lausanne, Switzerland

Note: This is not a comprehensive review of the published EHS provocation studies

Part of the population considers themselves as sensitive to radiation emitted by the wireless communication devices and networks. Different studies have indicated that ca. 0.5–11% of the population might be experiencing sensitivity symptoms. This ailment, called either electromagnetic hyper-sensitivity (EHS) or idiopathic environmental intolerance attributed to electromagnetic fields (IEI-EMF), is currently not considered by the World Health Organization as being caused by the exposures to electromagnetic fields (EMF). While the symptoms experienced by some persons are acknowledged as health impairment, the cause of these symptoms is considered to be unknown.
Numerous experimental provocation studies (see Appendix Table) were executed to determine whether EMF exposure causes EHS. In provocation studies, volunteers are exposed to radiation emitted by the wireless communication devices, in controlled conditions, and asked whether they get health symptoms and whether they recognize when the radiation is on/off. Answers provided by the study subjects are subjective and not objective experimental data. Collectively, the provocation studies have indicated a lack of causality between the EHS symptoms and exposures to EMF.

The wireless industry dreams of deploying its new 5G (fifth generation) infrastructure in your neighbourhood soon, as it has begun doing in California. Boxes the size of a PC could be placed every 150 meters or so on utility poles, sometimes with small-refrigerator-sized boxes on the ground. 5G technology uses pulsed, millimeter-sized microwaves that are easily blocked by obstacles such as leaves, hence the need to install millions of cell signal boosters near homes.

The telecoms say this is the most efficient way to ease the digital congestion caused by audio-video streaming, whose global traffic, according to American giant Cisco, will be eleven times higher in 2018 than in 2014. Data would move through fibre optic cables, but rather than bringing these cables to your home, the last leg of the data’s journey would generally be wireless… As markets work, personal mobile phone subscriptions are more profitable than the higher speed fibre optic connections linked to desktops through your own router.

The 5G network would also support the huge increase in wireless communications to be created by the Internet of Things (IoT). Since most people already own a cell phone, industry wants to expand its market by embedding a cellular microchip into most manufactured goods. Therefore, items purchased in the future would generate data to be collected by companies and, ultimately, by governments. 5G-IoT is promoted by the promise of “smart” cities, leading to a more comfortable, convenient and efficient life. But besides a relentless expansion of sales, 5G-IoT will strengthen mobile phones as a platform for publicity and population control. Further, 5G-IoT deployment carries significant health risks.

An inconvenient truth denied by industry

On September 13, 180 scientists and physicians from 35 countries signed a call to action (see “Scientists warn of potential serious health effects of 5G”) demanding a moratorium on 5G deployment until its radiation levels are proven safe, particularly for children and pregnant women. Indeed, all these inter-connected objects would significantly increase radiation from electromagnetic fields (EMFs) in our environment.

And yet, aware of the enormous potential of this market, engineers managed to have these radiations characterized as harmless, through 50 years of sustained efforts, by infiltrating and monopolizing standardization committees. Don’t worry, they say, if the International Agency for Research on Cancer, a branch of the World Health Organization, classified low- and high-frequency electromagnetic fields as “possibly carcinogenic to humans”, in 2001 and in 2011 respectively. Don’t worry either that a study funded by the US National Toxicology Program confirmed the causal link between brain cancer and cell phone use. Ignore, they say, thousands of scientific publications documenting since the 1960s1 the harmful effects of chronic, low level exposure to microwave radiation, including more recent studies included in the 2007 and 2012 Bioinitiative Reports. Forget also that these radiations have been linked to diabetes, lower human fertility, cardiac disturbances, several neurological diseases and genetic changes.

And forget about people suffering from electrohypersensitivity, forced to relocate to isolated regions because they suffer from “microwave illness”, a term coined by the Soviet military in the 1950s. Electromagnetic intolerance is an occupational disease whose “symptoms disappear in non-electrical environments”, concluded The Nordic Council of Ministers in 2000. EMF health risks were even highlighted in the March 2016 issue of IEEE Power Electronics, the magazine of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Constantly denied by the wireless industry, these facts constitute an inconvenient truth, as Al Gore would say.

Regulators prohibit any public health debate

The telecommunication industry’s hold on federal governments is such that deployment of 5G-IoT networks is imposed, and violates the rights of other jurisdictions as well as individuals. Any debate about health risks caused by EMFs is forbidden during public hearings on cell tower sitings. You will be inevitably exposed to their radiation and even more so by goods fitted with transmitting chips. It is to prevent such abuse that California Governor Jerry Brown recently vetoed Bill 649, which would have prevented the State’s cities and counties from deciding on 5G antenna siting.

In 1942, renowned biochemist and futurist Isaac Asimov coined the Three Laws of Robotics, at a time when the influence of robotization was barely beginning… The first one was: “A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.” As we enter the 5G-IoT revolution, should we not consider similar guidelines? Technology should not injure human beings, especially when alternatives such as optical fibre are available. Living organisms have tolerance to natural electrophysiological activity, but not to any of the artificial EMFs created since the 19th century. Nature cannot protect itself from pulsed and modulated microwave radiation with carriers oscillating billions of times per second.

Individual freedom requires that any IoT transmitter be activated by its owner, and that the default position should be not to transmit any information or radiation. This will safeguard privacy, and peoples’ right to protection from unwanted microwave exposure.

In 1984George Orwell‘s novel, society becomes a supposedly benevolent state offering comfort, practicability and efficiency. But everyone is spied upon and monitored by a sophisticated communications system that constantly reminds people that Big Brother is watching. This book illustrates the abuse of power and the erosion of civil liberties caused by mass surveillance. Without limits, technology may supersede humanity, and that process is already underway…

As Marshall McLuhan put it, “the medium is the message”; unlimited deployment of new technology often creates disastrous and unpredictable consequences, and 5G-IoT networks and products are very likely to do so. In 2018, the Orwellian prophecy comes true, 34 years later than predicted in the book 1984, published in 1948. Any type of automation reduces human autonomy and the powerful often abuse their privileges. The US Federal Communications Commission’s recent decision to repeal the rules that regulated Net neutrality, allowing companies to reduce the transmission speed of some data compared to others, illustrates this point. In the book 1984, the government monopolized information while now, with 5G-IoT, corporations wedge themselves in information control. Failing a revolution, it is often difficult to recover any rights and freedoms abandoned in the past.

The cell phone has proven useful as a communication tool, but there is no need to expand it beyond its capacity to transmit short voice and text messages. The industry would like us to download 3D movies on the move, so justifying a 5G network. But this is going in the wrong direction. To prevent a public health crisis, the density of microwave signals must, on the contrary, be reduced by 10,000 times if not more.

Optical fibre is safer, healthier and faster

5G intends to turn smartphones into mobile entertainment and visual stimulation centres purely for commercial reasons. 5G has no real strategic value. You can’t use a smart phone to design a commercial airplane. A more useful investment would be to connect the optical fibre network directly to users. Everyone could enjoy a communication speed ultimately 10,000 times faster than wireless, less vulnerable to hacking and harmless to the health of humans and other species.

In 1776, Adam Smith, the first theorist of capitalism, warned us in The Wealth of Nations not to trust merchants when it comes to making regulations. He saw them as the cause of many future tragedies, because of their narrow-mindedness when it came to profit. Our governments should be wise enough and willing to establish serious guidelines for the upcoming data revolution.

AOCRP-5 and its Groundhog Day Approach to radiofrequency health science

AOCRP-5 and its Groundhog Day Approach to radiofrequency health science

The Australasian Radiation Protection Society (ARPS) is hosting the 5th Asian and Oceanic IRPA Regional Congress on Radiation Protection – AOCRP5– in Melbourne, Australia during 20 – 23 May 2018. Too bad the term “radiation protection” is a misnomer which really means  defining “protection” strictly in accordance with ICNIRP’s time-worn orthodoxy. Dare I say a “Procrustean Approach”  in which “protection” is limited to immediate and hazardous radiofrequency/microwave radiation of the intensity to cause thermal biological damage. The same old line endlessly repeated and somewhat reminiscent of the movie Groundhog Daywhere the same day just keeps on repeating itself over and over and over…..At least in the movie some things were slowly learned by the main character Phil Connors – but not so in relation to adequate health protection with the folks at ARPS, IRPA and ICNIRP.

If anyone wants to spend a thousand dollars or so to attend this recirculating non-event of expert groupthink you could also attend an exciting course by none other than  Rodney Croft, the great defender of all things ICNIRP and if you think you have EHS you’re nuts. Rodney’s talk is titled: Overview of the radiofrequency health science and its relation to international guidelines. If the title doesn’t say it all, here is  AOCPR5‘s blurb on his course:

Rodney Croft is Professor of Health Psychology at the School of Psychology, University of Wollongong, Australia. He obtained degrees in Philosophy and Psychology before completing his PhD in Psychology at the University of Wollongong in 2000, and then worked in the area of cognitive neuroscience as a postdoc at Imperial College, London, and then at Swinburne University, Australia. His research focuses on the delineation of human brain function, particularly as it relates to agents that might affect it (e.g. electromagnetic fields, illicit and medicinal drugs), as well as psychiatry more generally. He has been involved in research on ELF and RF non-ionising radiation since 2000, primarily utilising the electroencephalogram as a means of observing subtle alterations in brain function, as well as risk perception and communication more generally. He is a commissioner with the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) and Chairs the ICNIRP revision of its high frequency guidelines, was Executive Director of the Australian Centre for Radiofrequency Bioeffects Research (2004-2011) and is currently Director of the Australian Centre for Electromagnetic Bioeffects Research (from 2013).
    Course Summary
Radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic fields (EMF) are used to enable a number of wireless technologies, ranging from FM and emergency radio, to mobile telecommunications and Wi-Fi. Given the ubiquity of such technologies and the resultant EMF exposure to humans, it is important to understand the effect of RF exposure on human health. This presentation will provide a brief overview of: 1/ the RF EMF health science; and 2/ the EMF guidelines developed by the International Commission on Non-Ionising Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) to provide guidance on the safe use of RF EMF.

LETTER TO ZONING BOARD: Protect Public Rights and Not Hide Behind Federal Laws That Can Harm Us

The following Letter by Dr. Ronald N. Kostoff was written to the Montgomery County Zoning Committee. Dr. Kostoff strongly admonishes the County to protect public rights even when these are in conflict with Federal law – in this case, with Section 704 of the 1996 Telecommunications Act. The arguments presented in this letter are compelling and should be brought before every public official making decisions relating to the deployment of 4G/5G “small” cells.

On the Montgomery County Government page that presents the Zoning Text Amendment, it is stated:

“Many residents have expressed concern about the health effects of radio frequency (RF) emissions.  Under federal law, the County may not “regulate the placement, construction, and modification of personal wireless service facilities on the basis of the environmental effects of radio frequency emissions to the extent that such facilities comply with the [FCC’s] regulations concerning such emissions.”  In other words, the County may enforce and require compliance with FCC regulations, but not create additional requirements.”

In my view, it is an abdication of the Council’s responsibility to hide behind a ‘federal law’, if adherence to that law could bring harm to the residents of Montgomery County.  For example, consider the Holocaust Encyclopedia (https://www.ushmm.org/wlc/en/article.php?ModuleId=10005681).  It lists tens, if not hundreds, of “federal laws” implemented in Nazi Germany against its Jewish citizens, starting in 1933.  If you were a member of a German County Council in the 1933-1940 time frame, would you be comfortable with such laws?  More specifically, would you be sending out a letter to the residents of that County telling them they have no choice but to obey and implement such laws?

That example is very analogous to the situation today with respect to implementation of small cell towers to support 5G.  We know radiofrequency emissions (RF) are harmful in isolation, and potentially very harmful when combined with other toxic stimuli.  I showed many examples of harm from RF (in isolation and especially in combination with other toxic stimuli) in my book chapter that I circulated to the Council in my previous mailing

How harmful?  We don’t know.

Our chapter showed a plethora of potentially fatal and chronic diseases that could result from RF radiation.  But, even the human effects data (horrific as it was) was based on relatively short-term exposure to RF, such as cell phones, cell towers, WiFi.  We know that many diseases, such as cancer, Alzheimer’s disease, etc, can have very long latency periods for some toxic stimuli.  Intense exposures to RF are relatively recent, and we don’t have the long-term human data (in isolation or in combinations) to ascertain the full extent of the damage these exposures can cause.  I cannot rule out that the potential damage from these long-term exposures would not equal, or even greatly exceed, the horrific damage caused by the Holocaust, especially because of the potential world-wide implementation of small cell tower 5G technology.  That’s why I draw the analogy above, even though the Holocaust had strong racial motivations, while the motivations for RF-5G implementation are profit and greed.  It is small comfort for the victims to know that they died from someone’s greed rather than racial motivations!

On 19 February 1942, President Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066, authorizing internment of tens of thousands of citizens of Japanese ancestry and resident aliens from Japan.  That was essentially a Federal law.  We view it from today’s perspective as horrific, and I have yet to see someone in recent times who would defend it.  But, at the time, it was accepted by the majority of non-Japanese Americans.  Should we have followed that proclamation blindly, as we did, causing undue hardship and disruption for a group whose only ‘crime’ was being of a particular ancestry?  And, how is today’s action by the Montgomery County Council different from the actions of those authorities seventy-five years ago who went along with, and hid behind, an obviously harmful Federal Order?

Sanctuary cities limit their cooperation with the Federal government in enforcing Federal immigration law.  In Maryland, three counties are listed as sanctuary counties: Baltimore, Prince George’s, and–Montgomery.  Whether one agrees with their resistance or not, the officials (and residents) of these counties are willing to disobey Federal law because they think it is wrong.

So, for Montgomery County in particular, why are the officials willing to disobey Federal laws on immigration, but  hide behind the cover of Federal law when it comes to the implementation of the infrastructure for 5G?  Are the consequences of obeying Federal immigration law more serious than the consequences of obeying Federal telecommunications law?

I would argue the opposite.  While the consequences of obeying Federal immigration law will result in substantial hardship and disruption of their lives for the individuals affected, for most the consequences will not be life-threatening.  The consequences of obeying Federal telecommunications law have the potential of resulting in many severe illnesses and premature deaths.  In short, the Council has shown willingness to disobey Federal law in the immigration situation, but unwillingness to do the same in the telecommunication situation.

One reason for the schizophrenic behavior of the Council on the above problems of immigration and telecommunications infrastructure could be related to potential conflicts of interest.  For the telecommunications implementation issue, have the Council members been vetted for conflict of interest?  This would include: 1) any elements of their investment portfolio that would profit from operation and expansion of the mobile telecommunications network; 2) any elements of their present business endeavors that would profit from operation and expansion of this network; 3) any elements of pensions received that would profit from operation and expansion of this network; 4) any proposals in the pipeline or being considered that would profit from operation and expansion of this network; 5) any other existing or potential conflicts of interest by which they could profit from operation and expansion of the mobile telecommunications network.  Anyone conflicted should be required to recuse themselves from decision-making on this network.

We are at a critical point in the fight to restrict exposure to very harmful levels of wireless radiation.  Already, studies have shown extensive human damage resulting from the previous generations of mobile telecommunications networks.  Implementation of 5G would raise potential human damage to unprecedented levels, because of the vastly increased density of cell towers required and their proximity to humans.

We need to make a stand: not tomorrow, not in some other location, but here, in Montgomery County, and now, in 2018!  If Montgomery County can claim sanctuary status for immigration, they can certainly claim sanctuary status to be free from the potentially ravaging effects of 5G.  Let’s not do the equivalent of making the trains to the Camps run on time, or of sending innocent people to internment facilities, as we did seventy-five years ago.  Let’s do what is right, for once, and oppose installation of these 5G cell towers!

Dr. Ronald N. Kostoff

Stop 5G launch at Winter Olympics in South Korea. Acute public health reactions possible

Smart Meter Harm

Stop 5G launch at Winter Olympics in South Korea. Acute public health reactions possible

Sudden, acute, and dramatic health reactions could occur at the South Korean Olympic and Paralympic games this month and next.

DISCLAIMER: This is not medical advice. If you need medical advice or attention, seek out a physician.

Korea Telecom together with Intel and Ericsson are rushing to launch one of the world’s first large-scale experiments with 5G – 5th generation wireless technology – at the Olympics. Special 5G-enabled tablets and mobile devices will be provided at the Olympics, using new beam-forming technologies, that focus radiation from cell tower to user’s device.[1]

Intel and Ericsson both know the public health hazards, and likely, so does Korea Telecom, but the public is kept in the dark. Over 200 scientists and physicians called for a halt to 5G last year, but they have been ignored.[2]

Researchers and physicians warn about the very serious physical reactions, including acute, sudden onset health reactions, following radiofrequency radiation (RFR) exposure that include:

  • skin reactions – sunburn-like area; burning, itching, tingling, or painful sensations; bruises; skin breaks; bleeding or oozing dermatitis
  • migraines and headaches
  • stabbing pains
  • heart problems, such as rapid heart rate and arrhythmias
  • fainting
  • disorientation or even functional amnesia
  • dizziness
  • insomnia and sleep disturbances
  • difficulty breathing
  • chest pressure
  • hearing clicking, ringing or buzzing noises (“microwave hearing” researched by Allen Frey in the 1960s)
  • pain in ears or eyes
  • nosebleeds or bleeding from the ears
  • seizures
  • memory loss
  • concentration difficulties
  • mood disorders including unexplained depression, anxiety or panic attacks, agitation, even suicidal thoughts
  • miscarriage/spontaneous abortion

These reactions could occur upon first exposure, or after repeated exposures. Children may be most vulnerable to these reactions.

Reduced exposure is a recommendation by the European Academy of Environmental Medicine in their lengthy report for physicians “EUROPAEM EMF: Guideline 2016 for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of EMF-related health problems and illnesses”.[3]

It is gross negligence to roll out a technology that has known health impacts and that over 200 scientists and physicians, including South Korean scientists Kiwon Song, PhD, Professor, Department of Biochemistry, Yonsei University, Seoul, and Young Hwan Ahn, MD PhD, Professor, Department of Neurosurgery, Ajou Univeristy School of Medicine, Suwon, warn is a health hazard. It is a violation of international law to experiment on the public without their informed consent.

This 5G rollout must be stopped now.

This situation is even more perilous, because people who are ignorant of wireless hazards will not know the source of any health reactions and can blame the wrong source.

Tensions are at an all-time high between the United States and North Korea. There is constant demonization of North Korea in the international media and by politicians. Last year, the news media made a big deal about an event in Cuba that may have involved EMF weapons use, though no questions have been asked as to which country has the most motive, means, and opportunity to launch it. Operation Northwoods is important background to understand this event.

Given this situation, public health reactions could be disastrously exploited and blamed, not on Intel, Korea Telecom, and Ericsson 5G radiation, but on North Korea regardless of the facts. North Korea has made peace overtures since January, is participating in the Olympic Games and has nothing to gain. The United States, on the other hand, has been hostile and aggressive toward Korea and then North Korea since the 1800s. The U.S. has dismissed peace (including returning to the table to officially end the Korean War) and stands ready to exploit any opportunity, complete with nuclear weapons, upon the slightest excuse.

The warnings about 5G go unheeded. World leaders and technology companies, anxious to be first to cash in on the 5G “gold rush”, are rushing 5G to trial and market with no safety testing. The public is just a cash cow, a golden goose, to have its assets extracted for greater telecom profits. With issues as grave as world peace threatened by this rollout, the public must protest this dangerous experiment and call for a halt now.

Cell Phone Radiation Poses a Cancer Risk!

Cell Phone Radiation Poses a Cancer Risk!
On Friday, February 2, 2018, the U.S. National Toxicology Program (NTP) reported that cell phone radiation did pose a weak cancer risk. It held a telephone press conference, which the Center for Safer Wireless participated in, to inform the public and to allow questions about their initial reports on the health effects of radiofrequency radiation (RFR) exposure in rats and mice. The studies used RFR exposure levels equal to and higher than the highest level permitted for cell phone emissions today. Two draft reports were released, one on rat studies and one on mouse studies. The final peer review occurs in March 2018. The 10 year, $25 million toxicological studies are the most comprehensive assessments of health effects and exposure to RFR in rats and mice in the US.
For two years, groups of rats and mice received full body exposure to 2G and 3G cell phone signals, which were the only frequencies used in the US when the experiment began. Both GSM and CDMA systems were tested. Rodents received 9 hours and 10 minutes of the radiation every 18 hours and 20 minutes. Radiation was modulated every 10 minutes.
A statistically significant increase of malignant schwannoma in the heartoccurred in exposed male rats. The NTP scientists did not expect this to happen, even though the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) of the World Health Organization in 2011 classified radiofrequency radiation as a possible carcinogen. Schwann cells aid in the conduction of normal electrical impulses along nerve fibers. These same type of Schwann cells are seen in the acoustic neuromas (tumor of the shwann cells that surround the nerve connecting the brain to the inner ear) of some heavy cell phone users.

Many other types of tumors in different organs developed, including malignant glioma of the brain, which other recent epidemiological studies have linked to heavy cell phone use.  There was statistically significant DNA damage found in the frontal cortex of the brains of the exposed group of male rats and mice as well. Interestingly, the exposed group lived longer than the sham group because of an inexplicable non-inflammatory radiation effect that occurred. To read the complete drafts go to Draft Reports.

Last year, NTP director Linda Birnbaum reported that scientists designed the study to identify hazards not risk levels.  NTP now intends to do more research to access health hazards on the newer frequencies of 3G and 4G that are currently used by cell phone companies. They expect to conduct  these studies more quickly and efficiently.
5G is currently being deployed throughout our country with small cell antennas. These frequencies have not been tested for safety prior to implementation.  The NTP study has confirmed that there is a biological reaction to wireless non-ionizing radiation (also known as wireless radiation).  This result should be a red flag for the country to limit any increase of radiation until safety is assured for the public.
When safety studies were conducted about the health effects of  tobacco, they also showed a weak link to cancer, and it took decades of humans smoking for the true carcinogenic effect of tobacco to appear.  Is this what the future holds for us with wireless radiation? Are we in a grand experiment that could lead us down the same path that occurred with tobacco?  The one difference between tobacco and wireless radiation exposure is that we have no choice but to be exposed to wireless radiation, and we have virtually no means to protect our children from the 5G rollout. Unless something changes, it appears our country will continue to put corporate interests and profits ahead of public health.
The Center for Safer Wireless is advocating for a moratorium on 5G until it is proven safe.  Until there is a government policy in place to protect us, we must make the effort to protect ourselves. The Center for Safer Wireless website has information about how to protect yourself from wireless radiation.  Please be sure to use it as a resource as you create a healthier environment and lifestyle for yourself and family.

The industry is starting to create a false need for MORE MICROWAVE frequencies –

Hi All,

The industry is starting to create a false need for frequencies –  do PR with a false claim that there is a need for more bandwidth probably to get funding to test Terahertz frequencies. This morning following an experiment a PR statement was released and a couple of articles were published: The future of wireless communications is terahertz .

They also speak about use of light frequencies. This month there was a conference: International Conference on Wireless and Optical Communications” . Advances open new frequency range for wireless communications.

As for HEALTH EFFECTS of Terahertz frequencies, a study was published last year showing that the TSA airport Terahertz scanning machines security machines. The study “DNA Breathing Dynamics in the Presence of a Terahertz Field that was done by a scientist, Boian Alexandrov from Los Alamos National Laboratories “reveals very disturbing—even shocking—evidence that the THz waves generated by TSA scanners is significantly damaging the DNA of the people being directed through the machines, and the TSA workers that are in close proximity to the scanners throughout their workday.” A good article that explains the issue and the findings: Los Alamos Scientist: TSA Scanners Shred Human DNA
