This is just a reminder to get a comment in to the Sedona City Council if you have not already. Council will be deciding whether to sign the APS rate case Settlement Agreement this Tuesday.
If you live in Sedona or have an APS account in Sedona, be sure to mention that. If not, you can still send a message because what Sedona Council does will also effect others.
If you don’t know what exactly to say here’s something you can copy & paste:
I urge you not to sign the APS rate case Settlement Agreement. If approved by the City of Sedona, the City would be agreeing that: 1) commercial account holders should no longer be able to refuse a “smart” meter, 2) solar account holders should no longer be able to refuse a “smart” meter, 3) no more analog meters should be available for customers who refuse, only non-transmitting digital meters, 4) a $5 a month charge for meter reading should be imposed, and new refusals should have a $50 set-up fee, even though customers who refuse “smart” meters are already subsidizing the financially unsustainable “smart” meters that they don’t need or want.
With 40% of APS’s Sedona customers having refused “smart” meters, the City should not agree to the above Settlement Agreement stipulations. Sedona is the place of most resistance to “smart” meters in Arizona, so the City has a leadership role to play, not a rubber-stamp role. City approval of the Settlement Agreement would also negatively impact those who live outside Sedona city limits and do not need or want “smart” meters. Please do not sign the Settlement Agreement.
Thanks. Email addresses are below.
