Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) struggled to stamp out and suppress any mention of smart meter injuries.

At this meeting of the Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD) Board of Directors, two SMUD customer owners, members of the public, asked to speak to the Board on items on the agenda as allowed by California law and Board policy. Board President Rob Kerth interrupted both speakers and shut them down. But two courageous Board members who understand that the public has a right to speak at Board meetings on agenda items asked for the advice of the General Counsel, Ms. Laura Lewis. After that advice the Board discussed the matter and decided to allow the members of the public to speak.
The agenda items were on accepting the monitoring report on Strategic Direction 5, Customer Relations, and Strategic Direction 6, Safety. The commenters also spoke about peer reviewed scientific studies on the biological effects of wireless radiation.
